Spain Wins The 2010 World Cup

Spain Wins The 2010 World Cup

Another HIT for FFT. About 3 days ago, we used our software to analyze the final FIFA world cup game and we forecast Spain to win.

Spain’s place among world football’s all-time greatest teams was assured today when Andres Iniesta scored with four minutes of extra time remaining to beat the Netherlands 1-0 and clinch his country’s first World Cup.

The goal clinched Spain’s fourth straight 1-0 victory in South Africa and made the team only the third to be world and European champion at the same time.

At the final whistle, the Spanish players hurried to swap their blue shirts for their more familiar red colours in time to collect the trophy. They donned shirts decorated with a single gold star to mark their triumph, becoming the eighth nation to receive the honour in the tournament’s 80-year history.

CONGRATULATIONS TO SPAIN AND ITS PEOPLE. A Very historical Day!

World Cup Predictions

World Cup Predictions

I have to say that soccer interests me as much as a sandwich going stale in the sun. But there is much hype about the upcoming soccer game between SPAIN and NETHERLANDS in a world cup final decider this weekend.

Who is gunna win….well Who knows? that’s like saying how long is a piece of string right?! and you just have a 50% – 50% chance if you have the gambling bug, and decided on having a fun little bet on this game. There has been so many upsets and surprises that it would have been nearly impossible predict a winner! Now it all comes down to just two teams on SUNDAY.

World Cup Predictions are not at the top of our agenda, but about 2 weeks ago we thought we would use our software and linguistic program to see if it came up with a winner. Every now and then we kick back and have a bit of fun with our software to see and test its boundaries and to see what other stuff it can come up with.

We were surprised that even before the quarter finals were played, it was saying SPAIN had a 93% chance of winning the entire world cup. WOW and now here they are in the finals. INSANE.

GOOD LUCK IF YOU ARE HAVING A BET, or just watching for that matter. But our software seems to be suggesting SPAIN will come through and have the win this weekend in the WORLD CUP FINAL. Time will tell if our world cup predictions / forecasts come to light.

Insider – Not enough money to pay all BP claims

Insider – Not enough money to pay all BP claims

THE man appointed by US President Barack Obama to manage BP’s oil spill disaster fund has warned that ”there’s not enough money in the world” to pay all claims, and suggested home owners with plunging property values could lose out.

The warning from prominent US lawyer Kenneth Feinberg came as hurricane Alex disrupted clean-up operations in the Gulf of Mexico and pushed oil deeper into fragile coastal wetlands and once-pristine beaches.

About 680 kilometres of American shoreline have now been affected by oil, nearly double the amount sullied just two days earlier, as oil continues to gush into the sea at an alarming rate 10 weeks into the worst environmental disaster in US history.

Mr Feinberg, asked by Mr Obama to administer the $US20 billion ($A23.5 billion) claims fund, insisted BP would ”pay every eligible claim”, but cautioned that many perceived damages may not qualify.

”I use that famous example of a restaurant in Boston that says, ‘I can’t get shrimp from Louisiana, and my menu suffers and my business is off,’ ” Mr Feinberg told the House of Representatives committee on small business.

”Well, no law is going to recognise that claim.”

He said he was still sorting out how to deal with indirect claims such as hotels that lose bookings because tourists think beaches are covered in oil, or people whose property values decline but who live several blocks from an oil-affected beach.

”There’s no question that the property value has diminished as a result of the spill. That doesn’t mean that every property is entitled to compensation,” he said. ”There’s not enough money in the world to pay everybody who’d like to have money.”  What indeed a joke this situation is. Who is going to take the blame for this? I dont see any hands…OK, but should I be suprised in the first place.

Seems that the forecasts we put out a month ago about this situation are infact playing out.
