Waiting Game Continues

The waiting game continues as Australia’s hung parliament is now only days away from deciding on who will form government. In news today it was confirmed the Kingmakers (three independents above) could switch sides to break a dead heat.
These key independents have sure taken their time, but this is a very delicate situation for Australia.
Rob Oakeshott, Tony Windsor and Bob Katter are on the verge of making a final decision as they hold meetings with Prime Minister Julia Gillard and Opposition Leader Tony Abbott in Canberra today.
The major parties could both end up on 75 seats – one short of a majority – depending on which way the three independents decide to go.
Mr Oakeshott says if that is the case one of them may have to reconsider their choice in order to ensure a stable minority government is formed.
“It does look like we may have to make some choices about whether we stick together to get stable government or not,” he said.
I was taken back today, where only a few weeks ago in our AUGUST NEWSLETTER we were forecasting a very close race for both Gillard and Abbott, WOW!….what an understatement that has become. Also we were forecasting the odds were in Julia Gillards favour. And that does seem likely, however it is totally up to the independents now, and fate is in their hands, literally. We will probably know their decision in the next 24 – 48 hours.
In a poll issued this morning most of the citizens in Australia are sick of these talks and just want to “move on quickly!” and I for one, am thinking the same way however we have many changes coming and we need to decide on which government can lead us through the coming changes on the horizon.
